Leading German serviced apartment provider enhances automation and guest experience with Mews, streamlining operations and reducing admin.
[Cologne: 8 March 2025] – Mews, the industry-leading hospitality cloud, has been chosen by ipartment to power its growing portfolio of design-led serviced apartments. With 1,300 apartments live and, as of spring, 1,300 more in development across Germany, ipartment continues to set the standard in the serviced apartment sector by embracing digitalization, automation, and innovation.
Founded in 2008, ipartment was one of the first professional and high-quality serviced apartment concepts in Germany. By migrating to Mews, the brand has taken a major step toward modernizing its operations and enhancing the guest experience.
“Our goal has always been to automate serviced apartments more and at the same time, offer our guests the comfort of a ‘second home’,” said Marcus Löwe, COO of ipartment GmbH. “We want to be a trendsetter in this area, and Mews is the perfect partner because they think the same way. They have proven that they can help us scale quickly and make our entire business more efficient, especially with our expansion strategy. However, while we embrace digitalization, we will never neglect personal service. We are always striving to find the perfect balance between technology and human touch, ensuring that our guests experience both efficiency and warmth.”
The transition has already produced significant results, particularly in automating check-in and payment processes. Two of ipartment’s properties now operate without the need of an on-site house manager, with 99% of guests using self-check-in kiosks. The streamlined process allows staff to focus on hospitality rather than administration.
With Mews Payments combined with Mews Terminals, ipartment has eliminated the need for manual payment handling and using external platforms to send payment link. This automation ensures a seamless and secure experience for guests, while also significantly reducing administrative tasks, allowing teams to focus on delivering exceptional service.
The reservation process has also been transformed. Using integrated quotation email in Mews, ipartment has cut the time between an inquiry and a confirmed booking by 50%. Reservation agents have also seen their administrative workload decrease dramatically.
“We also get positive feedback from our employees about Mews. It’s an easy to learn and easy to use PMS. With Mews, we enrolled and migrated 15 properties over a course of just six weeks. Since then, we were able to implement more and more automated processes and, due to constant development and improvement within Mews, we are excited for the years to come,” added Thomas Pohl, Head of Reservations at ipartment GmbH.
Matt Welle, CEO of Mews, commented: “ipartment has been a pioneer in serviced apartments for over a decade, and it’s exciting to see them continue to lead with technology-driven innovation. Their commitment to automation and modernization aligns perfectly with Mews, and we’re thrilled to support their growth as they redefine what exceptional serviced apartments look like.”

About ipartment
ipartment GmbH was founded in Cologne in 2008. The company is now the leading German provider of serviced apartments in the business-longstay segment. With ‘First Choice Second Home’, ipartment offers a concept for people who prefer to live ‘on the road at home’ rather than in a hotel. What makes it special is the design-oriented furnishing of the flats and houses, the fully digitalised guest journey and the all-round service.
From two flats in Cologne at the beginning, there are now 1,300 Design Apartments in Germany (rental contracts have been signed for over 2,300 flats in total). The flats range in size from around 20 square metres to around 70 square metres, some with balconies or even roof terraces.
The current occupancy rate of the buildings is 92 per cent. Of these, 90 percent are business travellers, and the remaining 10 percent are private travellers. The average length of stay in the long-stay sector at ipartment is 45 days.
The approximately 80 employees currently manage 17 locations and a co-working space. Further expansion - particularly in other European countries - is in the pipeline.
