Card protection & tokenization fee
The Card protection & tokenization fee is charged for every card tokenized and stored in Mews. Card is tokenized and stored every time when credit card data is provided to Mews regardless if the same card has been already tokenized and stored in the past.
Payment request fee
The Payment request fee is the fee charged for every payment request processed through a POS Terminal.
Interchange ++ fee
Final rate for credit card payment is a sum of three individual fees:
- Interchange fee
1. Interchange is a percentage fee which Mews has to pay to the cardholder's issuing bank whenever the cardholder they use their debit or credit card. This fee is paid for the benefits of accepting payments and covers handling costs including the risk involved in processing and settling the transaction.
2. Interchange fees are determined by the card schemes (MasterCard, VISA). The rates vary by terminal type, input method, timeliness of submission, location of card issuer, location of business and other parameters. 4. Interchange fees are passed by Mews directly to your business with no pass-through margin. - Scheme fee
These fees are charged by card payment networks (MasterCard, VISA) for using their networks for card processing and are typically lower than interchange fees.
Scheme fees are passed by Mews directly to your business with no pass-through margin. - Transaction fee
This is a fee added by Mews on top of the interchange and scheme fees for providing card processing services.
Example: Rate of 1.1 %++ means that the final rate for credit card payment is a sum of interchange fee, scheme fee and transaction fee of 1.1 %.
Blended fee
A flat fee is charged for all credit card payments regardless of the terminal type, input method, timeliness of submission, location of card issuer, location of business and other parameters.
